ABtA is seeking a ABA Authorization Specialist to join our team! This is a remote position but the applicant must live locally in North Carolina.
The Insurance Authorization Specialist is responsible for ensuring the efficient processing of insurance claims and authorizations for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services. This position is responsible for verifying insurance coverage, obtaining authorizations, and navigating the complexities of insurance policies and procedures. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with insurance companies, clients, and internal team members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services in an accurate and timely manner.
- Obtain authorizations from insurance companies for initial assessments, ongoing treatments, and additional services as needed.
- Maintain and update authorization deadlines for all services for agency
- Review and interpret insurance policies to determine and document coverage limitations and exclusions.
- Communicate effectively with insurance companies and / or billing teams to resolve issues related to claims and authorizations.
- Collaborate with the intake, clinical and billing teams to ensure timely and accurate submission of necessary documentation.
- Performs re-authorization and eligibility checks in a timely manner.
- Maintain detailed records of authorizations, claims, and communications with insurance providers.
- Stay updated on changes in insurance regulations, policies, and procedures related to ABA services.
- Provide support and guidance to clients and their families regarding insurance coverage and authorization processes.
- Notifies Client Services Management regarding lack of payer coverage or other service non-
- coverage issues.
- Maintains professional, positive and effective communication with payers, clients, agency employees.
- Maintains confidentiality of all information pertaining to clients, families and employees.
