Overview
- Tier One Technologies is looking for a part-time Computer Support technician to support a US Government client.
- This on-site 1-year contract position (with 4-year extension) will be located at Cannon AFB, New Mexico.
- Must be a US Citizen and presently have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
- SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.
Responsibilities
- Provide maintenance on client Web page in compliance with Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) directives. Update links, build pages, link appropriate documents and databases, manage layout and meet any other requirements to ensure quality of the Web page and that it integrates with the Air Force BTES website.
- Implement any new systems per USAF directive (software/hardware) as provided by the program Chief. Assist in identifying the upgrades needed and setting up new computers and other information systems to support gradual improvement of the program facility. If any new system is determined to be needed, to obtain approval from the program Chief and notify the contracting officer of potential contract price increase or decrease before implementation of the software/hardware.
- Provide all networking architecture recommendations and networking support to improve program network.
- Establish procedures for safeguarding all critical data. Design back-up methodology to guarantee uninterrupted Base Educations Office services to customers.
- Develop a tracking system within the program to (including all required documentation) monitor all information systems.
- Establish diagram of facility (i.e., eTesting room, eWAPS rooms, Education Office) with associate database to track fixes and implementation of information systems.
- Provide safe migration of important data from one system to another. Install and maintain the Education Center's primary database. Conduct upgrades to database and provide training to program personnel.
- Provide recommendations to the program Chief for future planning and improvements to existing information system structure.
- Assist program Chief in research and purchase of all information systems and components required to improve existing program technology systems.
- Provide proper information security on all systems. Educate personnel on proper security procedures to protect sensitive data and records in compliance with CUI and directives.
- Train office personnel on software required for them to efficiently execute their jobs.
- Perform any other critical technical system support as requested by the program team leader for successful operation of the program technology.
- Fix all local area network (LAN) problems that may arise in the program Offices and troubleshoot non-complex software problems.
- Ensure all equipment is fully operational. Monitor the use of computer equipment periodically and shall be available to assist with any technical problems. Notify the Chief of any malfunctioning equipment as soon as possible but no later than 3 business days of discovery.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in computer related field required. Bachelor's degree in computer science preferred.
- 2 years of experience in computer tech support, to include verifiable professional references and relevant training/certification within industry. The individual performing the work must be
- Must be capable of passing a DoD security clearance at the "Secret" level or above.
- Must be able to complete/maintain a National Agency Investigation (NACI) and Inquiry (NAIC) to access DoD networks.
- Must be able to have IT access to AFSOC LAN system.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of CUI (previously known as Privacy Act Information (PII)) and information security.
- Excellent customer service skills and verbal communications skills are essential.
