Job Title: Computer Support Technician
Location: Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico
Job Summary:
Join our team in providing essential computer technology support to the Base Training and Education Services (BTES) Office at Cannon Air Force Base. As a Computer Support Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the IT infrastructure that supports the United States Air Force's voluntary off-duty education program.
Work Schedule:
- Minimum of 15 hours per week, up to a maximum of 40 hours per week.
- Maximum of 720 hours per year.
- Normal business hours are 0730-1730, Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide hardware and software system administrative support, including maintenance of Local Area Networks (LAN) and all computer equipment.
- Implement new systems and upgrades as directed by the BTES Flight Chief.
- Offer networking architecture recommendations and support to improve BTES network efficiency.
- Establish data safeguarding procedures and design backup methodologies.
- Develop and maintain a tracking system for monitoring all information systems within the BTES.
- Ensure proper information security on all systems and educate personnel on security procedures.
- Train office personnel on necessary software for job efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve LAN and non-complex software issues.
- Ensure all equipment is fully operational and report any malfunctions to the Flight Chief.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in computer tech support with verifiable professional references.
- Ability to pass a DoD security clearance at the "Secret" level.
- Ability to complete/maintain a National Agency Investigation (NACI) and Inquiry (NAIC) for DoD network access.
