What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Staff Worker position at A Child's Heart Daycare and Preschool?
We seek a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Staff Worker to prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children in a child care facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy kitchen environment while adhering to all regulatory agency guidelines and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Prepare all meals and snacks following issued menus and directives.- Keep accurate records including inventory and production records.
- Comply with all Center regulations and guidelines.
- Comply with all regulatory agency guidelines and regulations.
- Wash kitchenware and tableware.
- Keep kitchen, appliances, etc. clean, sanitized, and in good working condition.
- Inventory food supply, reporting food supply needs to the Lead Cook.
- Report to the Lead Cook any maintenance or non-food supply needs in the kitchen.
- Assist with ordering supplies if requested.
- Properly store food and non-food supplies upon delivery.
- Keep all food items stored properly and at the appropriate temperature.
- Date all food items.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent- Preferred: one year professional experience in food service and/or experience cooking for large groups.
Physical and Mental Demands:
Ability to lift 40 pounds.- Ability to reach over head.
- Good personal hygiene (clean clothes, hair, hands, nails, etc.).
- Ability to bend down.
- Finger dexterity.
- Ability to read and understand all documents.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to remain calm in crisis situations.
