What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant/AP position at A Hiring Company?
STAFF ACCOUNTANT DUTIES:
• Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
• Assists in preparation monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
• Maintains the general ledger integrity.
• Reconcile payroll, other financial accounts.
• Manages and reconciles the Accrual and Prepaid schedules and assists with monthly closing.
• Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
• Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
• Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• Performs other Ad Hoc reporting as needed.
• Assists with Accounts Receivable duties when needed.
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE DUTIES:
• Enter all vendor bills for multiple clinic locations.
• Reconciles vendor statements and promptly resolves any discrepancies.
• Processes ACH, wire, and check payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintains a schedule to ensure vendor bills have not been skipped.
• Set up expense reimbursements, customer refunds and/or other non-vendor bills for payment.
• Assists in 1099 preparation and ensures compliance with IRS reporting requirements.
• Collaborates with other departments and operations teams to resolve account/class discrepancies.
