Responsibilities
A Safe Place’s Education & Support Specialist will develop, implement, manage and evaluate the organizations Minor Prevention Programs, while assessing the programs based on community needs and feedback. The Education & Support Specialist will also identify grant funding sources to support existing and planned program activities, including the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals to federal, state, corporate, and private funding agencies. The Education & Support Specialist will also assist A Safe Place staff in the planning and organizing of the organization’s fundraising efforts at annual fundraisers and special events. The Education & Support Specialist will work within the guidelines, policies and mission of A Safe Place. The standard work week is Monday-Friday 9am-4pm, however, some duties will involve evenings based on program scheduling.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's (Required)
Experience:
- Grant writing: 3 years (Preferred)
- Teaching: 3 years (Preferred)
- federal grant writing: 2 years (Preferred)
Duties and Responsibilities
· Plan, implement and evaluate the Online Predator and Social Media training
· Plan, implement and evaluate the EmpoweredMe! Program for middle school girls (some evening hours may be necessary due to program schedule)
· Train new staff and volunteers on ASP Prevention Programs
· Assist the Director of Operations with donor appreciation (under $500) and assist with planning events as needed
· Attend bi-weekly meetings with Director of Operations
· Organize annual grant calendar
· Researching grant opportunities & deadlines
· Drafting & submission of polished proposals for grant funds
· Maintain grant compliance and submit all grant reports
· Track monthly activity calendar
· Attend weekly all staff meeting
