What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grant Administrator position at University of North Carolina Wilmington?
Brief Summary of Work for this Position
This position will be responsible for :
- Managing a portfolio of grants and internal awards
- Independently manage the financial aspects of grant operations, overseeing budgets, expenditures, and compliance.
- Support faculty through the pre-award process including building proposals and budgets, progress reports and working closely with UNCW Sponsored Programs.
- Support faculty through the post award process including human resources, purchasing, sub-award management, tuition awards and travel.
- Establish tracking systems and monitor spending for salary, sub-awards, and other grant expenditures.
- Exercise independent judgement to identify and resolve potential issues before they arise.
- Prepare financial / budget reports and projects grant spending.
- Evaluate and authorize payment for subaward and subcontractor invoices, ensuring compliance with grant terms, budget allocations, and cost allowability principles.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Preferred education, professional skills and experience
