Title: Vice President of Operations/ HR (Exempt)

Reports To: CEO

 

Position Summary

Under the direction of the CEO, this Department Head is responsible for serving as the designated person in charge of the Branch and Back Office Operations for the credit union. As a key player on the Sr Management team, this position leads and directs the Operations and Branch Managers and is responsible for all staff assigned to the branch network as well as staff assigned in the back office. In addition to routine duties assigned, the VP will coordinate All-Staff Training Day and facilities management for the branches and main headquarters. VP is responsible for Policies and Procedures under their responsibility and serves as the relationship manager for Vendors assigned to the department. VP will oversee member account opening and maintenance administration, Share Draft program management, member disputes and claims, levies, accounts payable. Also handles VISA & M/C, ACH, Wires, and online banking services. Assigns duties to staff to ensure skill building and professional development. Keeps Sr. Management informed of all conditions and operations of the credit union.

Primary Responsibilities

Realizes that Member Service is the top priority for this position.

Provide Strategic Leadership: Directly Supervises the Branch and Back Office Managers and advises, executes and coordinates the workflow of the department. Contributes to the CU’s overall strategic plans.

Operational Oversite: Oversees deposit, Voice Response, Electronic Banking, Branch Banking functions. Lead Project Manager for product and/or system implementations for new business lines and services in the department. Monitors branch activity, cash management, and account administration.

Team Development: Provide leadership, coaching and training to departmental staff, conduct annual staff evaluation, promote company values, cultural high performance and continuous improvement.

Process Improvement: Develop and implement improved workflows, determine best practices and staff talent deployment and retention. Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting standards, and procedures.

 

 

 

Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Completes all required training as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Experience working in Financial Institution operations, credit union acumen is preferred. Must have a proven track record of strong management and leadership experience. Excellent problem -solving and change management skills are required. Must be familiar with credit union/banking products and services, share draft, credit and debit card processing, ACH, RDC, and Wires. Possess people persuasion skills and customer service attitude. Must have strong oral and written communication and always maintain professionalism. This position requires mental alertness to prioritize workload and complete tasks timely, in a fast-paced environment with multiple duties and member requests.

This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of the credit union, contributing to its overall strategic goals.

Physical Requirements:

Performs primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting to 20 lbs. Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in a climate-controlled office environment. Must be able to go up and down stairs/ ladders when required. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer (keyboard/ten key) for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to operate routine office equipment (phone, copier, fax, calculator, etc.) Must be able to work extended hours when required or requested. Must be capable of regular and timely attendance.

 

 

 

Salary : $125,000 - $145,000
