Payroll Specialist
This position is part of a dynamic Corporate Accounting and Finance team and involves significant interaction with our Corporate Finance, Human Resource and Project teams as well as external stakeholders.
About the Role
- Processes payroll for approximately 2500 team members across multiple companies on a weekly basis
- Understands compliance with multi-state and federal regulations
- Performs account reconciliations
- Reviews Team Member entries for manager approvals, as well as reasonableness and accuracy for data prepared by timekeepers
- Updates employee information in computer database
- Completes all steps, including voluntary employee deductions and garnishment calculations, necessary to process and produce payroll deposits for all employees
- Assists in the preparation of annual W-2 forms for all team members and yearly audit items
- Responds to team members' inquiries and interfaces regularly with various departments in the company
- Analyzes payroll problems and provides appropriate resolutions
- Maintains established document control protocol
- Communicates with peers and supervisors to ensure understanding of results
- Performs other payroll-related support as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Accounting or Business; or five years of accounting, preferably payroll-related experience in a fast-paced working environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter, proactive, motivated, and team player
- Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
