Payroll Specialist
This position is part of a dynamic Corporate Accounting and Finance team and involves significant interaction with our Corporate Finance, Human Resource and Project teams as well external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have sound payroll expertise, be detail oriented and highly organized and have exceptional time management skills.
Job Responsibilities:
• Processes payroll for approximately 2500 team members across multiple companies on a weekly basis
• Understands compliance with multi state and federal regulations
• Performs account reconciliations
• Review Team Member entries for manager approvals, as well as reasonableness and accuracy for data prepared by timekeepers
• Updates employee information in computer database
• Completes all steps, including voluntary employee deductions and garnishment calculations, necessary to process and produce payroll deposits for all employees
• Assists in the preparation of annual W-2 forms for all team members and yearly audit items
• Responds to team members inquiries and interfaces regularly with various departments in the company
• Analyze payroll problems and provide appropriate resolutions
• Monitors Key Performance Indicators and Initiates Continuous Improvement of accounting processes
• Maintains established document control protocol
• Communicates with peers and supervisors to ensure understanding of results
• Perform other payroll-related support as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications / Requirements:
• Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Accounting or Business; or five years of accounting, preferably payroll related experience in a fast-paced working environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter, proactive, motivated, and team player
• Strong analysis and problem solving skills “Can-do” attitude
• Ability to shift easily between priorities and projects along with managing multiple deadlines
