Program Overview:
A2LA is seeking motivated, eager-to-learn, undergraduate students who are looking to gain professional, hands-on experience through our Summer Internship Program (SIP). This is a unique 12-week program that allows participants to focus on their area of study or interest, while also exploring and gaining understanding of how each functional area of A2LA comes together to work towards a common goal.
You will have the opportunity to participate in a rotation through the various departments within A2LA, such as Accreditation, Quality, Marketing, HR, Business Development, Accounting, Government Relations, and IT. Each will provide training curriculum, mentoring, and on the job experiential learning to provide you with a well-rounded understanding of how an organization operates.
A2LA will be hiring interns for the following departments:
- Accounting
- Marketing
- Events
- Business Development
- Accreditation Services
Position Overview:
Specific activities, projects or assignments vary by department and are decided upon based on current needs. Projects or assignments serve to offer practical, hands-on experiences and provide exposure to different aspects of A2LA’s line of business.
A day in the life of an Intern may include activities such as the ones listed below:
- Gathering, organizing, and interpreting data or information and applying it to departmental projects or reports.
- Work side-by-side with A2LA employees on meaningful departmental projects or assignments.
- Participate in a minimum of two presentations to A2LA stakeholders.
- Attend professional meetings specific to your assigned department as well as any A2LA all-staff meetings.
- Participate in departmental rotations and complete tasks as assigned.
- Grow your professional network by interacting and communicating with other A2LA interns and staff through one-on-one communication, group events, meetings, and team building activities
Requirements
- Must be actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree. A range of undergraduate degrees will be considered.
- Must have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and the technical aptitude to learn new applications or software quickly.
- Able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strategic, creative, and innovative thinking.
- Distinguished written and verbal communications skills.
- Must be willing to conduct presentations.
- The ability to think proactively, resourcefully, and independently.
- Must be willing to commit to the 12-week program (Note: Flexibility is given upon request for vacations or personal time; however, in order for the program to be of benefit, interns must be willing to commit to the majority of the program).

- Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk; sit for long hours, use fingers for typing; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision for reviewing documents on the computer or in hardcopy state.
- Work Environment: Work is performed in an office setting. Hours will total up to 40 hours per week.
