f you are ready to change the world and protect the protectors, the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) currently has several opportunities to assist in the work of our Human Resources Department. The position pays $23/hour, for 32.5 hours per week - we are very flexible in arranging hours based on school schedules, etc. - remote, hybrid, or in-person, depending on needs of department.
Please note - you must be a current college and/or graduate school student OR be in a year between undergraduate and graduate study.

WordPress Developer Intern
Communications Division
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in managing, designing, and maintaining WordPress websites.
Support in optimizing websites for performance, speed, and responsiveness.
Collaborate with colleagues to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
Test websites for functionality, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility.
Assist with website content updates and maintenance tasks.
Requirements:
Basic understanding of WordPress, including post types, media library, and plugins.
Basic understanding of WordPress block theme structure, internationalization, and block page builder.
Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript.
Familiarity with debugging techniques.
Knowledge of PHP and MySQL is a plus.
Familiarity with the WPML Multilingual Plugin is a plus.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Preferred Qualifications (not mandatory):
Familiarity with caching.
Familiarity with SEO principles and tools.
Knowledge of version control system (Git).
Science & Research Intern
Health, Safety, & Medicine Division
Key Responsibilities:
Complete a comprehensive review and health and safety related apps marketing to the first responder area.
• Complete a comprehensive review of documents on H&S SharePoint site for rebranding and relevance.
• Conduct literature research on Mental Health, fire service training and fire service-related research.
• Develop QR codes for access to H&S programs.
• Assist with curriculum development.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Proficient in using common software tools such as Microsoft Office and comfortable navigating digital platforms and databases.
Ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize information from a variety of sources.
Ability to write clearly and professionally, with attention to grammar, structure, and tone appropriate to different audiences.
