Job Title: Part-Time Bookkeeper/Financial Controller
Location: Ferndale, MI

Job Summary:
We are hiring a part-time Bookkeeper/Financial Controller to manage financial operations, including client accounting, QuickBooks management (personal and business), payroll, and implementing a purchase ordering system. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping, financial management, and organizational processes.
Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping & Accounting: Manage client accounts, process transactions, reconcile accounts, and generate financial reports.
- QuickBooks Management: Maintain both personal and business QuickBooks, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Payroll Processing: Handle payroll for staff, including accurate tracking of hours and timely payment.
- Check Printing: Prepare and process check payments for vendors and other financial obligations.
- Financial Oversight: Analyze financial data, track budgets, and provide recommendations for improved financial efficiency.
- Purchase Ordering System: Design and implement a streamlined purchase ordering system for the business.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
- Financial Strategy: Work closely with leadership to monitor cash flow and create financial forecasts.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Financial Controller, or similar role.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (both desktop and online versions).
- Strong understanding of payroll processing and financial reconciliation.
- Experience with implementing or improving financial systems and processes.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (preferred but not required).
- Experience working in a small business environment.
