The Opportunity
The Director of Digital delivery will lead large scale digital initiatives, build strategy, and deliver end to end solutions globally for Abbott. This role will work closely across internal and external stakeholders to lead a cross functional team through various phases of program including ideation, usability design, build, automated tests, implementations. The role will include advising and guiding senior management on best practices, managing program risks, status, milestones, across the entire program(s).
The role will provide management, leadership, and professional and technical guidance to strategize as well as lead from front in the delivery phases of the works with providing direction to meet targets and milestones.
Strategy, Vision & Organization Leadership
- Understand Abbott’s strategic vision for strategizing and building differentiating digital solutions to support critical initiatives.
- Translate business strategies into comprehensive delivery plans with various phases and digital initiatives to realize expected benefits and capabilities.
- Support digital development teams through the discovery, ideation, design, technical development, and deployment to enable Abbott’s business vision.
- Work with business process owners in establishing shared vision across business units and corporate functions in building consensus on product use cases, future state capabilities and priorities
Delivery & Implementation
Establish and implement contemporary digital capabilities of meeting a continuously evolving industry and market environment to support Abbott’s digital transformation.Develop and manage product and program roadmaps by articulating business capability needs, technology requirements, stage / gate review criteria with associated milestones.Ensure programs are leveraging approved implementation methodologies and to work closely with business and development teams to ensure strong adherence.Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies, procedures.Collaborate with cross functional teams like Architects, Infrastructure, Product Security to identify best tools, platform, and solutions for the initiative.Support new business development opportunities in an environment with diverse range of SaaS and PaaS solutions.Must be experienced in global delivery with business stakeholders in multiple regions and teams in various countries.Must be skilled in delivery in Information Technology, digital solutions using iterative methodologies.Must be very experienced in Product Management and technical leadership skills to deliver programs upwards in scale of more than $10 million.Oversee daily activities of delivery team and provide direction and guidance to meet targets.Ensure that team maintains high level of competence and operational excellence.Supervisory / Management Responsibilities
Directly manages Sr. Managers, Project Managers, Business Systems Analysts, and vendors responsible for developing enterprise-wide digital solutions Position Accountability / ScopeThe Director or digital delivery will manage capital budget, expenses, and major project completion.Minimum Experience / Training Required
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration or another discipline relevant for the healthcare industry or equivalent experienceA minimum of 15 years IT and in digital software product development experience in large or mid-size multinational businesses, with a focus on technology product development.Must have solid full life cycle implementation experience in digital (Websites, Mobile, and digital ecosystem), in the capacity of a seasoned director.Must have managed at least two complex programs of over $10 Million as a delivery director.Must have global delivery experience – multiple regions / countries.Must have a background of leading Product Management and Engineering and keeping up with both technology and ways of working.Must be outspoken / speak their mind, be able to influence business stakeholders.Must be able to lead from the front, be able to roll up the sleeves to get the work done.Must be able to partner with other directors / team members to work in a matrix organization.Should have broad IT expertise in various disciplines, like including modern Agile development methodologies, cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity experiences.Strong organizational skills required, including program / project governance and increased levels of staff oversight.Must be experienced in stakeholder management in a complex organizational structure, a strong influencer and possess negotiating skills,Must possess experiences in leading teams, both with direct staff and indirect project teams.The base pay for this position is $168,000.00 – $336,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
