Department overview With the requirement on all financial organisations to fully consider their operational resilience increased focus is being paid to the role which IT provides in delivering this and assuring that service is maintained for critical and important business and technological functions. The IT Resilience and Continuity Management team’s purpose is to ensure that abrdns’ technologies are proven as recoverable within the expectations of our business and customers. Role description The ITRCM Recovery Proving analyst is responsible for delivery of our internally managed recovery proving events We are initially focusing on assuring our internally owned technology stack through established best practises and continuous improvement; as the Recovery Proving analyst you will be expected to follow these, recommending improvements and assuring that best practises remain current. As running and managing proving events is the main stay of the role there will be a degree of out of hours working involved in order to deliver upon our recovery proving programme. Key Outcomes Management and run of internal recovery proving events. Maintain adherence to internal standards and best practise across the Internal recovery proving events. Work with key internal stakeholders, across both IT and the rest of the business, and senior leaders to assure engagement and required sign off of core documentation and status. Manage and maintain standard documentation and engage in continuous improvement across the function. Deliver and present on status of managed proving events. Maintain and uplift documentation and data across the function Improve awareness of IT recovery proving across the organisation including improving and feeding back on training materials Provide subject matter expertise to areas of the business conducting their own proving events Candidate requirements Role Specific Skills and Knowledge: Highly motivated, can do attitude with an attention to detail. Able to work with multiple key stakeholders and manage competing priorities. Experience of delivering on IT proving events in a regulated environment, preferably finance. Experience of standardised documentation and continuous improvement Experience of managing and delivering upon multiple workstreams in parallel Process focused with the ability to translate technical requirements to business friendly language and requirements Technical Skills Broad understanding in proving resilience of hosted technologies and interlinkage across the OSI model Broad understanding in proving resilience of cloud based technologies (AWS and Azure) Experience in managing or delivering an IT recovery proving event DRCS, EDRP, CBCI, DBCI or similar qualification preferred ITIL and Project Management certification advantageous Our Benefits There is more to working life than coming home with a good salary.
