Summary
As an Employment Specialist at Abilities Services, Inc., you will play a vital role in connecting individuals with developmental disabilities to meaningful employment opportunities. This position is essential in furthering our mission to empower clients through workforce development and training initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Conduct recruitment efforts to identify job opportunities for clients with developmental disabilities.
- Develop and implement training programs tailored to enhance employability skills.
- Provide guidance on employment labor laws to ensure compliance during job placements.
- Collaborate with local businesses to create partnerships that facilitate job placements.
- Support clients through the job application process, including resume writing and interview preparation.
- Monitor client progress in their roles and provide ongoing support as needed.
- Educate clients about workforce development resources available to them.
- Advocate for clients' needs within the community to promote inclusivity in the workplace.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in recruiting or workforce development, preferably within disability services.
- Strong understanding of employment labor laws and regulations.
- Experience in training development or educational program design.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Background in social work or related fields is beneficial but not required.
- Excellent mentoring skills with a passion for empowering others.
- Ability to educate clients on various employment resources available to them.
- Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum is a plus.
