What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Manager position at ABLE COMPOSITES LLC?
We are currently seeking an highly organized, goal-oriented program manager to join our growing organization. The ideal candidate will have a sharp business mind and proven ability to strategize and implement high-level program initiatives. Will implement new program / product launches, ensuring that all existing program / project requirements are met. Will provide support in the areas of product engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality, safety, cost, and productivity.
- Serve as primary contact for assigned customers for new program/product launches, acting as liaison between plant operations and executive management. Periodically report program/project status to Leadership Team.
- Create timelines to track program/product launches.
- Work with customer engineering teams for product design and release. Provide product design input especially related to manufacturing feasibility, efficiency and repeatability.
- Work with customers and manufacturing team on GD&T development.
- Interact with vendors and customers, interpreting their needs and requirements, and representing them in the work.
- Ensure a program/product adheres to the customers specifications by attending meetings, studying customer design, and customer standards.
- Monitor and control program costs associated with prototype and production tooling and prototype parts production.
- Procure samples for test setups, performance testing or customer builds.
- Create Bills of Material and Labor Routings.
- Create work instructions as needed to support manufacturing.
- Assist in completing on-site production trials.
- Complete Customer Engineering Changes.
- Lead or participate in team-oriented problem-solving efforts.
- Provides engineering input for new product quotations.
- Participate in department initiatives - e.g. business plan development / execution, procedure development, QOS.
- Complete documentation of activities as required.
- Travel between customer sites and sister company locations as required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering – Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred
- 2-5 years experience as program engineer, product engineer, applications engineer or similar.
- Exceptional presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in managing timelines and long/short term assignments.
- Ability to use CAD software such as Solidworks, NX, Catia as well as ERP systems.
- Competence with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint applications.
- Personally, accountable for preventing injury and illness to self and for protecting Company assets.
- Acceptance of this full safety responsibility, personal alertness and following plant safety rules is mandatory.
- Office environment - may spend some time in manufacturing environment using normal PPE and safety precautions.
- Be familiar with all chemicals used in your assigned area and understand any injury or health problem potential inherent in the use or handling of such chemicals.
