Production Graphic Designer

We have an onsite full-time opportunity for a Production Graphic Designer in La Crosse!

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Production Graphic Designer to generate high-quality computerized artwork, including proofs and film layouts, in accordance with customer artwork/blueprints and departmental procedures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing customer artwork for usability, identifying potential printing issues, and ensuring the artwork is prepared for production. This role requires proficiency in software such as Illustrator, along with the ability to maintain and store customer artwork/blueprints securely and accurately.

Wage: $18.00-22.00 per hour, based on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate computerized artwork, proofs, and film layouts based on customer-provided artwork/blueprints.
• Review customer artwork and blueprints for usability, identifying any potential issues that could affect printing or production quality.
• Work closely with customers and internal teams to clarify and resolve any artwork/blueprint discrepancies or issues.
• Maintain the integrity and accuracy of customer artwork by storing it in its original state and preparing it for final artwork generation.
• Convert original customer artwork/blueprints into Illustrator for the generation of final artwork.
• Follow departmental procedures and best practices to ensure consistent and high-quality output.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure artwork is ready for printing, production, or further processing.
• Keep detailed records of all customer artwork and related documents.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Technical Artist, Graphic Designer, or in a similar role.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and other design software.
• Knowledge of print production processes and the ability to identify printing issues within artwork.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with complex artwork/blueprints.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with customers and internal teams.

Preferred:

• Experience working in a print production or graphic design environment.
• Familiarity with other design and image manipulation software (e.g., Photoshop, InDesign).
• Knowledge of file formats, resolution, and color modes used in print production.
