Civil / Commercial Litigation Attorney
Our legal team is committed to providing each client with quality counsel, innovative solutions, and personalized service. Founded in 2000, the firm offers the legal expertise of its 115 attorneys, who have accumulated experience and problem-solving skills over decades of practice.
We are a vibrant, busy, and growing full-service law firm looking to increase our talented ranks of litigators by adding a Civil and Commercial Litigation Attorney with 5 years of experience to join our expanding Litigation department.
Successful Candidate
We seek a self-starter with a strong work ethic, leadership, and organizational skills. The ideal candidate must have good oral communication skills and the ability to communicate and be personable with clients, court staff, adversaries, and witnesses. They must be a true team player, genuinely interested in working in a supportive and collaborative environment. The candidate should be able to lead a team of associates and troubleshoot where necessary.
The successful candidate should have heavy trial experience and a high level of sophistication in civil and commercial litigation. They should have experience with businesses involved in various disputes, such as those concerning partnerships, shareholders, sales of merchandise, licensing, etc. Whether disputes are settled in or out of court, this candidate will have knowledge of taking depositions, interviewing witnesses, reviewing documents, and writing briefs.
Although not required, the ideal candidate will already have a small book of business that they seek to foster and grow while developing new skill sets.
What You Will Need to Have :
- Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in New York
- 5 years of experience in Litigation
- Heavy trial experience and high level of sophistication in civil and commercial litigation
- Ability to build rapport with clients
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
- Must be detail-oriented
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and prioritize work tasks effectively
- Collaborative with a can-do attitude balanced with the ability to gracefully communicate with clients
- Comfortable working with all levels of business professionals, including senior management and all colleagues in other departments in a fast-paced environment
