An Insurance Customer Service Representative serves as the primary point of contact for policyholders, assisting them with inquiries, claims, policy changes, and general support. The role requires strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and knowledge of insurance products.
Job Responsibilities:
- Answer customer inquiries regarding insurance policies, coverage options, billing, and claims.
- Assist policyholders with policy changes, renewals, and cancellations.
- Process payments, update customer records, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints or escalate them to the appropriate department.
- Explain policy terms, conditions, and benefits in a clear and professional manner.
- Work with underwriters, claims adjusters, and other departments to provide seamless service.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Promote additional coverage options and upsell products when appropriate.
- High school diploma or equivalent (some roles may require an associate or bachelor’s degree).
- Prior experience in customer service, preferably in the insurance industry.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of insurance policies and industry regulations.
- Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in computer systems, CRM software, and data entry.
