Acacia Family Practice Group is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our growing team. As a Medical Assistant you will be an integral part of our healthcare practice, providing exceptional patient care and assistance to our medical professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Assist medical professionals with patient examinations and procedures.
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, SpO2%.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms and medical equipment.
- Administer medications, injections, and immunizations as directed by medical professionals.
- Assist with patient education and follow-up care instructions.
- Manage patient records and ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
- Schedule appointments, and coordinate patient referrals or prior authorizations as needed.
- Use of Computers, telephone, fax machine, copier, stethoscope, EKG machine, pulse oximeter, oxygen devices, wheelchairs, stretchers, scales, glucose monitor, and other patient care equipment necessary to perform required duties as appropriate to the scope of the practice.
- Maintain clean and orderly exam rooms and clinic environment.
- Performs accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times in AFPG electronic health record.
Requirements:
- Valid CMA or RMA certification
- Prior experience working as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and medical software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- Prefer Minimum one(1) year customer service experience in medical office.
- Provides appropriate infection control measures as defined by AFPG Infection Control Protocol; arrange exam/treatment rooms in preparation for clinics/procedure; maintains medical inventory in exam rooms; uses appropriate cleaning techniques between patients and clinic exam/treatment rooms; maintains supplies, linens, equipment, and stocks instruments; practices OSHA safety standards.
