Job description
Acadiana Veterinary Surgery, LLC is a mobile surgical service that provides surgical procedures to small animal patients directly within the primary veterinarian’s hospital. All procedures are performed in the operating room of the primary veterinarian, allowing pets to undergo specialized surgery in a clinic in which they are familiar, which minimizes stress for the owner and the patient.
We are seeking an Operations Manager for our Mobile Surgical Specialist Veterinarian (DVM) to become our DVM’s right-hand person. We need someone efficient and proactive to assist with the day-to-day operations, so the DVM can continue to prioritize an exceptional level of service to the community (and furry family members). As a highly respected, mobile board-certified small animal surgeon, in great demand, our DVM requires someone who, with training, can anticipate her needs and become an integral part of this company. This is a full-time position that will require approximately 40 hours per week.
Job Location: A combination of in office, remote, and on-the-go, but mostly on the go. In and around the Acadiana area (Alexandria, Lake Charles, Lafayette, home base in Crowley).
Qualifications:
·Someone who is enthusiastic and personable with strong coachability
·Must be skilled at managing time and tasks for maximum efficiency
·Excellent organizational abilities, planning, and follow-up
· Impeccable attention to detail, and overall timeliness of responsibilities
· Must be adept at managing ever-changing tasks and asks from day to day in addition to fixed responsibilities
·Comfortable in a surgery setting, shadowing the DVM and training to provide assistance in surgery as needed
·Veterinary experience not required
·Excellent written and oral communication
·Exceptional customer service skills
·Clean driving record
·Highly efficient, proactive, and focused
·Strong ability to muti-task
·Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Oversight of daily operations
- Function as client liaison, managing client relationships, when necessary, by managing the business email inbox, handling, and responding to things that fall within knowledge and capabilities, and prioritizing the rest for the DVM
- Making pre- and post-surgery calls to clinics / owners
- Performing administrative tasks such as inventory, ordering, record keeping, etc.
- Training and becoming proficient in cleaning, wrapping, and autoclaving medical instruments
- Keeping the office clean and organized
- Shared social media responsibilities with DVM
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $49,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
