  Key Responsibilities/Overview

· The Supervisor oversees and supervises the entire Janitorial operation of the Veterans Affairs Health Care System in Birmingham, AL, ensuring that all items listed in the Performance Work Statement of the contract are fulfilled and performed to expectations.

· Submit Monthly Status Reports detailing the Contractor's performance in the execution of tasks.

· Submit a continuously updated list of employees and their hourly tours of duty.

 Create and maintain a daily work schedule for each janitorial employee in addition to any Janitorial Lead.

· Must notify Accord Federal Management of any unsafe or hazardous conditions, incidents, or equipment problems.

· Must provide a written report of any incident involving Contractor personnel to Accord Management within 24 hours.

· Must contact appropriate parties in the event of an emergency situation.  

· Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and standards related to janitorial services, including health and safety guidelines.

Requirements

· Minimum of three (3) years’ supervisory experience of Janitorial operations.

· Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English is required.

· Excessive knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances preferred.

· Excessive knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components.

· Superb attention to detail and conscientiousness.

· Must adhere to all safety and environmental procedures.

· Must become knowledgeable of the fire alarm system of buildings. 

· Must be able to work day and evening shifts in addition to some weekend shifts.

· Must ensure that subordinates are neatly groomed and dressed to present a professional appearance.

· Must be able to pass a Background investigation.

· Must successfully pass a drug test (upon hire and random).

· Military Veteran preferred but not required.

· High school diploma or equivalent is required.
