Job Description :
The Cash Applications Specialist is responsible for applying and reconciling customer payments to open invoices in an accurate and timely manner. This role involves working closely with the accounts receivable, customer service, and sales teams to ensure discrepancies are identified and resolved. The position requires a high level of attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Key Responsibilities :
- Accurately apply payments received via checks, ACH, wire transfers, and credit card transactions to customer accounts.
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies, including short payments, overpayments, and unapplied payments.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address and resolve customer payment issues.
- Reconcile accounts receivable balances and perform monthly cash application reconciliations.
- Maintain and update payment logs and records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Respond promptly to inquiries related to payment applications and account balances.
- Support the preparation of reports related to cash application activities for management review.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements.
