General Purpose
Under the supervision of the Field Staff Manager, gathers real estate assessment data, performs inspections and other tasks related to property assessment and assessor property records; performs related work as required or assigned.
Location/Travel Requirements
This position is approximately 80% travel and can work remotely within the state of Wisconsin. The primary areas of travel will be in the southern (ie. Milwaukee County, Dane County, etc.). The travel portion is related to performing field work in the form of real estate inspections, and the amount of travel is dependent on the location of the employee. Overnight travel is approximately 50% of the position, but can vary depending on the location of the employee. The virtual portion of the position is in the form of data entry and analysis and can be performed at home. Minimal office work (Appleton, WI) will be required.
Typical Duties
- Search physical and electronic records for information and disburse information
- Perform field work related to gathering data to determine property values
- Take pictures, make sketches/diagrams of real estate parcels and buildings.
- Review property values and discuss assessments with property owners
- Process documents to update and maintain parcel files, property ownership, and records for appraisal section
- Assist in identifying and resolving errors in legal descriptions and ownership
- Process appropriate instruments to complete splits or combination of parcels
- Answer incoming calls; receive, sort, file and retrieve forms, correspondence and documents
- Update, check and complete records, forms and documents
- Operate a variety of office equipment; attend open books and board of reviews for municipalities
- Attend office hours
- Attend Open Books and Board of Review when needed
Minimum Qualifications
Must successfully complete a “Assessor-1 Certification” course within one (1) month of employment if not currently qualified and an Assessor-2 Certification within (3) months; must possess and maintain a valid Wisconsin driver's license.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
