The Role:
The Operator Relief is responsible for providing coverage for absent or missing team members and to cover the break schedule. This position is able to relieve all jobs on the production lines, including up to a Line Operator role.
Starting Operator Relief positions will likely work on the plant's 3rd shift: 11pm to 7am CST, Monday-Friday or Saturday, with some weekends. There may be a need to work any off shift; 2nd and 3rd shifts provide shift pay differential. There may be weekend shift work required. This position has a set starting hourly pay rate, per CBA.
What You'll Do:
- Relieve absent or missing team members and cover all breaks as instructed by Supervisor.
- Perform all duties of each team member for effective relief job performance.
- Assist in conducting quality control checks.
- Maintain proper inventories of glue, cartons, and lids for line operations.
- Supply cartons, containers and lids to the SIG lines to Operators.
- Keep immediate area clean and organized.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
What You'll Need:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent education (i.e. GED)
- One (1) year of manufacturing experience preferably in a food manufacturing or packaging environment.
- Ability to read, write and understand English.
- Ability to push, pull, lift; up to 50 pounds, on a routine basis.
- Ability to follow written and oral communications.
- Ability to act independently within the scope of the responsibilities.

Pay Rate Range:
- Starting pay rate for this role is $26.71 per hour.
- Full rate for the job is $29.71 per hour, in effect through 6/30/2025.
- Pay rate is in accordance with Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Starting rate for this position is aligned with CBA wage structure for new hire employees, which indicates that the starting rate for a new hire will be three dollars ($3.00) less than the current rate for that job.
- After 1st and 2nd year anniversary, pay will increase by one dollar ($1.00), each year, up to the full rate of the job, which is provided on 3rd year anniversary.
