The Head of Operations is responsible for implementation of operational strategies and overseeing the operational framework in their region. The position holder ensures operational efficiency and adherence to safety, quality and regulatory standards while leading the team and driving improvement initiatives. The Head of Operations prioritizes cost efficiency and resource optimization by managing unit costs. The role requires a charismatic leader, with strong change management skills, and the ability to foster collaborative relationships with stakeholders, as well as a high-performance culture.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement and maintain operational strategies in their area of responsibility that are aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
- Assist the Operations Steering team in developing and managing the operations budget, focusing on cost efficiency and resource optimization.
- Analyze financial performance and report on key metrics for their area of responsibility and take appropriate actions.
- Ensure that the stations in the region comply with industry standards, regulations and quality control processes.
- Promote a culture of safety and implement risk management strategies.
- Work closely with the Head of Operations Steering to continuously assess and improve existing operational processes for enhanced efficiency, cost savings and environmental sustainability.
- Champion the company's sustainability goals and incorporate sustainable practices across all operational processes in the region.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and business goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with 3rd party handling providers. Set expectations, introduce a reporting system to monitor performance.
- Lead, provide direction and mentor the local Station Managers and operational teams in the region. Identify and develop talent within the team.
- Foster a culture of high-performance and accountability, ensure clarity of regional KPIs, set personal and regional targets and clear expectations, provide consistent performance feedback and recognition.
- Ensure Station Managers have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
- Create spirit and a sense of belonging to the operational team in the region.
- Act as a change agent driving process-related change initiatives, execute communication plans that clarify the need for change, reinforce priorities.
- Support employees through the change process. Act as a change advocate, respond to any concerns and help employees adjust to changes.
- Stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes, provide insights and recommendations.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in operations management in logistics, manufacturing, or a related industry.
- Proven experience in leading teams and managing large-scale operations.
Other Requirements:
This role may require frequent travel.
