Division Description:
AMIC/PKC is a diverse team of contracting professionals that integrates their functional experience with the technical expertise of our program management partners to provide world-class acquisition solutions for our mission partners. The division is divided into three branches. PKCA provides dedicated contracting support for AMIC/PMA-managed (aircraft maintenance) programs. PKCB and PKCC are aligned with AMIC/PMS and provide dedicated contracting support for the Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratories and Intelligence portfolios, respectively. Our personnel also regularly interface with the PLG Logistics Division, DRQ Quality Assurance Division, DRR Resource Management Division, DRJ Legal Division, and the other PK Divisions to proactively define requirements and collaboratively resolve issues.
Description of Position:
As a Contract Specialist you will support a Contracting Officer in overseeing contracts assigned within the PKCC portfolio. Our office provides cradle-to-grave service contracting to our Mission Partners. Contract Specialist are part of a multi-functional team offering all areas of expertise needed for proper management of contracts. PKCC supports the Air Combat Command (ACC) Intelligence Directorate (A2) in its mission. The A2 directorate is responsible for managing intelligence operations, including analysis, targeting, collections, processing, exploitation, and dissemination, as well as executing lead command responsibilities for various intelligence disciplines.
Position Responsibilities:
- Leads Complex Acquisitions: Plans and executes complex acquisitions, defining solutions to intricate problems.
- Business Advisor: Provides comprehensive business advice throughout the acquisition lifecycle, considering all aspects including risk and incentivization.
- Ensures Regulatory Compliance: Reviews acquisition packages for adherence to administrative, regulatory, and procedural requirements, ensuring consistency with market practices.
- Solicitation and Contract Development: Creates solicitations and contracts, ensuring consistency with supporting documents, appropriate clauses, and terms.
- Post-Award Management: Manages post-award activities for high-value, long-term contracts, including modifications, contractor performance, and claims resolution.
- Organizational Representative: Represents the organization to internal and external stakeholders, providing guidance, training, and resolving complex issues.
Desired Skills/Expertise:
- Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP), Contracting Certification – Professional (or equivalent)
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees
