About the Role (Packaging Tech II/Lead):
In Grown Farms is in search of Cannabis Packaging Tech II for our production facility in Freeport, IL. The Packaging Lead may assist with all phases of harvesting, processing, and packaging and must be proficient with tracking and monitoring systems. Works closely with Packaging Supervisor, Manager, and other stake holders for daily personnel needs and to meet quality standards.
How you’ll make a difference (required duties and responsibilities):
- Directly responsible for daily supervision of Packaging team
- Ensure processing equipment is on hand and set up prior to the start of each shift.
- Ensures cleanliness, safety, and efficiency of the production area.
- Follows and leads staff in maintaining quality control measures to ensure a high-quality product.
- Follows and leads staff to ensure compliance with State regulations and testing requirements.
- Understands the proper and safe handling of hazardous materials.
- Assists Manager in developing SOPs to ensure safety, quality, and consistent processes.
- Assists Manager in preparation of inventory reports to ensure products are available, accurate and in demand.
- Assists Manager or in maintaining packaging inventory to ensure a seamless production schedule.
- Leads team in ensuring accurate weighing and inventory; all products are packaged, counted, sorted, and labeled accurately.
- With the guidance of Packaging Supervisor & Manager effectively leads the daily activities of the packaging staff, assigning tasks, adjusting schedules, and assigning breaks as needed to realize high quality product results, efficient workflows, and motivated staff.
- Follow any other duties assigned by the manager as needed.
