Job Description
Responsible for construction contract administration and onsite observation for a single or multiple projects. Provide construction observation for various infrastructure projects to assure construction is in conformance with project contract documents and client standards. Review and document contract quantities and project progress through daily or weekly reports. Assist with and/or perform construction contract administration tasks such as review of payment applications, change orders, submittals, warranties, etc. Act as liaison between client, contractor, residents, and other project stakeholders. Assist project manager with conflict resolution throughout construction. Obtain as-built data and maintain redline markups throughout construction. Obtain field information to support office staff’s needs during construction purposes and for various design projects as needed. Assist management staff in other requested tasks to meet company objectives. Ability to work overtime as needed.
Responsibilities

Essential Skills
- Construction inspection experience
- Water treatment and roadway construction knowledge
- Experience with construction observation, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction documents
- Ability to work with as-built data and perform construction administration tasks
- Experience with change orders and municipal wastewater projects
- Strong communication skills
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to read and understand construction/engineering plans
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate degree in Applied Science or comparable qualification
- At least 10 years of public infrastructure construction inspection experience (local roads, municipality, wastewater facilities)
- IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities certification preferred
Work Environment
This position is part of the Construction Administration team and involves onsite work 95% of the time, utilizing a company vehicle (White Jeep). Typically, you will work on one project at a time, with projects located in the greater Chicagoland area. You will be the main point of contact on site and will have opportunities for advancement, including the potential to grow into a senior inspector role and obtain additional certifications. You will also have the chance to learn various aspects of the construction process and design work during less busy periods.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $53.00/hr.
