Job Title: Senior Project Manager


Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead our project teams in the successful delivery of complex heavy civil construction projects. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project management, from initial planning and design through to construction and project closeout. This role demands a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership abilities and a deep understanding of construction methodologies and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all phases of heavy civil construction projects, ensuring alignment with project goals and client expectations.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed schedules, resource allocation, and budget forecasts. Adjust plans as necessary to accommodate changing conditions and project requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal teams. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among all project stakeholders.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact. Proactively address issues to keep projects on track.
  • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that all work meets or exceeds industry standards and client specifications.
  • Promote a culture of safety on all project sites. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor project budgets and financial performance. Approve expenditures, manage change orders, and ensure cost-effective project delivery.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, progress reports, and final project closeout documents. Prepare and present regular status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to project team members. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, ensure compliance with project plans, and address any issues that arise.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in heavy civil construction project management, with a proven track record of managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • PMP certification is a plus.
  • Heavy Civil project experience throughout Westchester and the 5 boroughs.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a combination of office and field work, with regular site visits to monitor project progress. The role requires the use of various project management and estimating software such as Bluebeam, Primavera P6, and other construction management tools. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $200000.00/hr.
