Description
ActioNet has an immediate opportunity for a Systems Administrator requiring a Secret Clearance, located in Anchorage, AK . ActioNet is an IT service provider and solutions integrator headquartered in Vienna, VA that works with the Federal Government and Department of Defense.
Provide full range of System and Database Administration support required to operate the GCCS system and hardware infrastructure. Provide administration, installation, operations and maintenance (IO&M) support for servers and computer workstations operating the GCCS software. Accomplish the following System Administration Tasks :
Roles and Responsibilities
a. Performing system startups and shutdowns.
b. Adding and removing hardware.
c. Downloading software from the Defense Information Infrastructure (DII) Asset Distribution System (DADS) from Defense Information System Agency (DISA) Defense Enterprise Computing Center (DECC), Montgomery, Alabama.
d. Installing and removing software.
e. Maintaining access permission lists.
f. Performing user account administration.
g. Setting up GCCS User Identifiers (UIDs).
h. Monitoring and archiving log and audit files.
i. Monitoring the GCCS-J and GCCS-AF system as a whole.
j. Maintaining newsgroups and chat sessions.
k. Performing Domain Name Server (DNS) administration.
l. Performing system backup and restoral.
m. Generating periodic summaries of system performance and use.
n. Directing activities during and following an emergency condition to minimize loss of GCCS mission capabilities.
o. Diagnosing and reporting system problems to the GCCS Management Center (GMC)- Pentagon, GCCS-AF Technical Support Center (Air Force Life Cycle Management Center / HBBD, Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts), and HQ PACAF Computer Systems Flight GCCS Program Office (PACAF CSF / SCOO), Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Hawaii.
p. Helping users determine the cause of failures and perform error recovery.
q. Reconfiguring GCCS to regain processing capabilities for non-routine equipment malfunctions.
Position Requirements
4 (four or more) years of experience in systems administration, of which at least 3 (three) years must be specialized experience in administrating Oracle (Sun) Solaris UNIX systems in a network environment and two years specialized experience in administrating Microsoft Windows systems in a network environment.
Associate's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field.
Certification(s) : A (CompTIA)
Security or equivalent per DoD Directive 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program.
Technical skills and knowledge :
Visual Editor, shell scripting, system startup procedures, network intercommunication protocols, file system management, ZFS administration, IMS Identity Management System, DNS / BIND configuration, zone management, implementing security procedures, and system maintenance procedures
Knowledge, skills, and experience required to install and configure GCCS-J enclave as per the current procedures for GCCS-J Server Deployment using the Automated Installer, and GCCS Automated Installation Server (GAIS) / Distribution Service Point (DSP) server and GCCS-J Windows Installation System-Joint (GWIS-J) documentation
Knowledge, skills, and experience required to install and configure Solaris and Windows Servers, Windows clients, setting up Global and Non-Global zones, loopback files systems, as well as configuring the J2EEDT web based software and Agile Client. Experience with new GCCS-J Agile Server / Agile Client application
