Photographer/Videographer, Once on this Island

ActUp Theater is hiring a Videographer/Photographer to play an essential role in our Spring 2025 production of Once on this Island. This role will help capture and create compelling visual narratives through both photography and videography, working closely with the production team to understand their vision. Responsibilities include taking high-quality photos and videos during rehearsals and performances, as well as editing these assets to deliver polished final products. The role will bring creative flair, strong communication skills, and artistic talent to effectively showcase the energy of the production.

Responsibilities

• Excellent knowledge of photography/videography within the digital domain.
• Experience with industry standard editing tools and asset management software.
• Responsible for photographic and video coverage of the production, Once on this Island
• Edited with distribution of all selected and unselected images.
• Ensure all images are properly optimized and sent to the team within an agreed timeline.
• Worked with tight deadlines
• Coordinated with the employer by phone or text for all photography assignments and scheduling.
• Ability to work well independently but also working alongside team members
• Ability to multitask while showing commitment to detail
• Must have commitment to deadlines and be open to flexible working hours
• Have a sound knowledge of the evolving nature of social media
• Completed complex photoshoots involving dancing, drumming and theatrical performances at indoor and outdoor venues.
• Experiment with different lighting effects to bring out the best of photos
• Create headshot photography for individual group members.
• Contributed to the significant growth of the business by developing a reputation for quality imagery.
• Convene safe spaces that increase empathy and understanding
• Communicate with the team for all needs to accomplish the assigned task
• Attend all staff meetings
• Additional assignments at a supervisor's request

Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Temporary

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
