What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accessibility Inspector position at Ada County Highway District (ACHD)?
Ada County Highway District is now accepting applications for an Accessibility Inspector in Development Services. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a starting pay range of $25.10 - $28.90 per hour, DOQ.

Primary Duties:
· The Accessibility Inspector conducts investigations and inspections of all temporary traffic control (TTC) for construction activities within the public right-of-way and any permanent pedestrian facilities to ensure accessibility by people with disabilities.
Qualifications:
· Requires considerable knowledge of ADA and related accessibility laws and regulations; the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD); coordinating ADA compliance and accommodation programs as related to accessibility and work occurring within the public right-of-way; ADA and pedestrian design elements and roadway design principles including the ability to interpret roadway plans, geometric designs, and roadway safety.
· The incumbent must have a thorough knowledge of construction practices and procedures; good knowledge of materials used in construction and roadway development; good knowledge of work zone traffic control signing and traffic safety procedures; ability to perform mathematical engineering calculations; ability to read and interpret construction specifications and drawings; ability to prepare effective inspection notes and testing documentation.
· Must possess a valid Idaho driver’s license.
· Must either have or be able to complete training for ATSSA Traffic Control Technician & Traffic Control Supervisor and obtain a flagger certification within 12 months of employment.
· Must have good experience with use of computer programs, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
· Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
· Any combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be acceptable.
