Accessibility Inspector
An exciting opportunity is available for an Accessibility Inspector in Development Services at Ada County Highway District. This full-time, non-exempt position offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.
The ideal candidate will possess considerable knowledge of ADA and related accessibility laws and regulations, as well as experience with construction practices and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct investigations and inspections of temporary traffic control (TTC) and permanent pedestrian facilities to ensure accessibility by people with disabilities.
Requirements:
- Mastery of ADA and related accessibility laws and regulations, including the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).
- Thorough knowledge of construction practices and procedures, roadway design principles, and materials used in construction and roadway development.
- Ability to perform mathematical engineering calculations, read and interpret construction specifications and drawings, and prepare effective inspection notes and testing documentation.
- Valid Idaho driver's license and ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
- Experience with computer programs, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook, and ability to obtain ATSSA Traffic Control Technician & Traffic Control Supervisor certification within 12 months.
