Ada County Weed, Pest & MosquitoPOSITION GENERAL SUMMARY: This role is responsible for overseeing Mosquito Adulticide crews within the Ada County Mosquito Abatement District, ensuring crews follow established procedures to carry out daily mosquito control operations effectively.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Support the training and supervision of field technicians.Allocate pesticides to the appropriate employees through the inventory control system.Meet periodically with the Division Coordinator to review operational performance.Follow product label instructions and help train field personnel accordingly.Utilize GPS and mobile computer systems, providing guidance to staff on their use, and applying basic computer skills to troubleshoot issues.Ensure compliance with department policies and procedures.Ensure compliance with legal requirements related to pesticide applications.Maintain responsibilities as a field technician to meet crew objectives.Assist field crews with problem-solving or unique application scenarios.Ensure the timely completion of work orders.Assist employees in other Mosquito departments during peak seasons.ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Contribute to departmental development and provide recommendations for improvement.Coordinate the weekly washing and maintenance of fleet vehicles.Conduct routine vehicle and equipment maintenance.Oversee the completion of complex repairs when needed.Calibrate pesticide spray equipment and ensure safe usage of application equipment.Mix pesticides as required.Help maintain and recommend upgrades or repairs for equipment.Operate a variety of vehicles, surveillance, and mechanical equipment.Support other department divisions during off-season as needed.Perform other related duties as necessary.
