Job Summary:
The Public Area Cleaner is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of all public areas within the hotel, including lobbies, corridors, restrooms, and other common spaces. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation, contributing to an exceptional guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain all public areas such as lobbies, hallways, restrooms, elevators, and stairways.
- Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and fittings.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
- Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in designated areas.
- Restock supplies in public restrooms and other areas as necessary.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the maintenance team.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is used and maintained properly.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and hotel policies.
- Assist with special cleaning projects and deep-cleaning tasks as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding to guest requests and inquiries promptly and professionally.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in cleaning or housekeeping preferred, especially in a hospitality environment.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness.
- Good physical condition and stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift/move heavy objects.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, and carpet cleaners.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
- Basic communication skills to interact with guests and team members effectively.
Working Conditions:
- The role involves physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and solutions; appropriate protective equipment will be provided.
- Work hours may vary, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on hotel occupancy and event schedules.
- The work environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities efficiently.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Uniforms and necessary training will be provided.
