What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Innkeeper (Part time) position at Adair Country Inn and Restaurant?
Supports management and oversees the day-to-day operations of an eleven room Inn and restaurant to ensure the highest standards for cleanliness, office administration, and guest services. The ideal candidate will be positive, energetic and knowledgeable of inn/bed & Breakfast operations. Must be hands-on, detail oriented and willing to perform an array of task including those requiring physical effort. Must be able to work Fridays and Saturdays, holidays and some evenings.
Duties & Responsibilities: ∙Serves as “Manager on Duty”, ensuring preparedness for arriving guests, processing check-outs, assisting with guests’ needs and timely resolution of guest complaints. ∙Follows “opening and closing” procedures for the Inn and office as appropriate to assigned hours. ∙Responds timely to all incoming communication and inquiries via email correspondence and telephone. ∙Attends to communication from 3 party agents: Expedia, Booking.com, Trip Advisor etc. ∙ Makes & monitors lodging reservations and coordinates with Chef and housekeeping to fulfill guest requests/ accommodations. ∙Book dining reservations via telephone, actively reviews & manages reservations in Open Table. ∙Communicates with management regarding any FOH needs or issues identified. ∙Processes daily House account charges and verifies prior night activity including cash. ∙Assist with breakfast service as needed based on guest volume and staffing. ∙Coordinates and assists in all housekeeping duties, maintains established standards. ∙ Inspects rooms and public areas (including restrooms) daily, promptly addresses any and all issues. ∙Communicates with management to report repairs or maintenance needs noted in guest rooms or public areas. ∙Inspects Inn entrances daily to ensure they are safe. In inclement weather keep entrances free of snow, applies sand as needed for safety. ∙Provides management with timely information on any/all important developments or issues.
Qualifications ∙2 years hospitality experience ∙Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills ∙Proficient with computers including google and google drive, ∙Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm ∙Ability to manage priorities and workflow ∙Ability to perform the physical work required. ∙Knowledge of Resnexus, OpenTable, Canva or Square a plus
