Our client is an organization dedicated to providing high-quality services to adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are seeking a team-oriented and dependable professional with proven skills and capabilities as a Chief Operating Officer to support operational functions of the organization.

This is a full-time salaried position offering medical and other health-related coverage, paid time off, retirement savings and other benefits.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS :

Directs, administers, and coordinates the activities of the organization in support of policies, goals, and objectives established by the Chief Executive Officer and the LLC Members by performing the following duties personally or through reporting managers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Provide vital input in short-term and long-term strategic and operational planning and positioning within the company.
  • Lead development effort in new product lines (e.g. CHOICES, DRS, ECF) and new territories.
  • Provide direct administrative support and supervision for all program services of the company.
  • Provide general oversight of all the company's development, marketing, and public relations activities.
  • Represent the company at associations and / or committees as assigned.
  • Serve on the Leadership Team and may represent CEO with external groups as directed.
  • Help identify and address organizational development issues that impact service effectiveness.
  • Evaluate the effect of internal and external forces on the company.
  • Design strategies and actions focused on attracting, retaining, and increasing services throughout the state and southeastern US.
  • Recommend short- and long-range development plans and programs that support the company's values and general objectives.
  • Direct all aspects of Programs to include Supported Living, Personal Assistance, Supported Employment, Community Based Day, Shared Living / Host Homes, Personal Funds Coordination, Records Coordination, Nursing supports, Mental Health Clinic, Behavior, and Employment and Community First, etc.
  • Assist Chief Officer of Quality in managing RFPs / contract submissions or other required operational and financial data submissions.
  • Other duties as assigned by the CEO and / or LLC Membership (Ownership Group).

OTHER FUNCTIONS :

  • Exhibit behaviors and best practices that are consistent with the vision and values of the company.
  • Practice safe work habits to eliminate and control potential safety and health hazards and to maintain a safe work environment. Attend all safety training as scheduled.
  • Work as part of the team to ensure that Quality Management principles (Plan, Measure, Assess, Improve) are practiced and achieved.
  • Operate company and personal transportation in a safe and healthy manner.
  • Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned by designated and / or authorized staff.
  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Social Services field to include Mental Health, Intellectual Disability or other related fields of endeavor.
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to practice confidentiality
  • LICENSE / CERTIFICATES :

  • Valid Tennessee, Mississippi, or Arkansas Regular Driver License
  • Valid automobile insurance (this must be maintained throughout employment.)
