Addison Central School District is seeking two full time Curriculum Coordinators for anticipated vacancies (K-5 and 6-10th grade) beginning the 2025-2026 year. One position will be working primarily with K-5 educators with the other working with 6-10th grade educators.
These positions work within the master agreement for licensed staff, and will support implementation and review of all ACSD curricula and related instruction and assessment practices. Design and implement ongoing professional development and coaching to educators related to successful curriculum implementation, ensuring equitable access for all students. Collaborate with principals, assistant principals, instructional specialists, academic interventionists, other curriculum leaders, and general and special educators to ensure horizontal connections and vertical alignment within and beyond content areas.
The primary focus will be on strengthening proficiency-based instruction and our local common assessment system through the interdisciplinary International Baccalaureate (IB) model. Additionally, the Curriculum Coordinator 6-10 grade will act as an International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Program (MYP) Coordinator, to support continued integration of the IB framework across ACSD’s middle and high school, as assigned. The Curriculum Coordinator K-5 will coordinate the (IB) Primary Years Program (PYP) across ACSD’s elementary schools, as assigned.
The successful candidate will be a team player with a solid foundation in curriculum and instruction; depth of knowledge in proficiency-based, student-centered pedagogies; and an ability to lead professional learning on these themes. A background in elementary, middle or high school level teaching is essential, especially in math or science. Those interested in the Grade 6-10 position with expertise in Math, Science or Language Acquisition are preferred. Qualified candidates must hold a current Vermont teaching license with the pertinent endorsement, have excellent communication and critical thinking skills and be able to work independently and as part of a highly collaborative team, be committed to equity in all aspects of education and believe all students can achieve at high levels.
Qualifications:
-Applicants must hold a valid Master’s Degree and a Level II Vermont Professional Educator’s License with content area expertise
-Minimum 5 years teaching experience in a heterogenous MYP or PYP classroom setting or equivalent
-Experience in curriculum design and demonstrated expertise with concept-based, transdisciplinary inquiry driven curricula and Universal Design for Learning
·Experience working with a range of grade levels is preferred
