Job Title : Payroll Specialist (Remote)

Addison Group is looking for a payroll specialist to assist our SaaS client in the Bay Area, adding and updating new jurisdictions in ADP to get in compliance.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate high level of experience in ADP and payroll processing, as well as assist with tax reporting and following up with local registrations.
This is a 3 month contract, and 100% remote.
Responsibilities :
- Process employee timecards, prepare payroll checks, 1099’s, W-2 forms and quarterly payroll taxes and process payroll, including payroll adjustments and statements
- Address and support employee questions / discrepancies related to payroll and benefits
- Maintain, update and ensure accuracy for all payroll and benefit records
- Compile data and prepare reports and payroll account reconciliations
- Ensure all records, cash and files are in adherence with procedures / policies
- Review Tax Jurisdictions that are currently being filed in Applied For status and complete Tax ID registration process
- Follow up on state SIT, SUI and local registrations in progress
- Log new tax notices with ADP Smart Compliance as received from taxing agencies
Payroll Specialist Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3 years in a similar role
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Excel
- Experience with ADP is required, ideally Smart Compliance.
