Responsibilities
- Database Availability, Scalability, and Performance:
- Ensure database availability, scalability, and performance for critical applications.
- Optimize database configurations and query execution plans.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database-related issues promptly.
- Best Practices Implementation:
- Implement best practices for database management, including security.
- Design and maintain database infrastructure, ensuring data integrity and reliability.
- Collaborate with software engineers to integrate databases with applications.
- Automation and Tool Development:
- Develop automation tools for database operations, such as deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Create scripts and procedures to automate routine tasks.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Data Modeling and Design:
- Design and optimize data models for efficient storage and retrieval.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective database structures.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
- Project Leadership and Innovation:
- Lead projects related to database upgrades, migrations, and performance enhancements.
- Evaluate and recommend new database technologies and features.
- Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of continuous learning.
- Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years as a Database Engineer or similar role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and later, including T-SQL.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Reporting Services (SSIS and SSRS)
- Additional Skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Familiarity with SAFE FME Product is a plus.
- Familiarity with RedGate Tools (SQL Compare, SQL Clone) is a plus
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI or Fabric is a plus
- Familiarity with Insurance business a plus
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Related work experience or certifications will be considered in lieu of degree
