Sr. DBA - Applications
Lone Tree, CO - onsite 5 days a week
Direct Hire - Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without assistance.
Pay : up to $130K ideal, but will have flex for a qualified candidate.
This will be the sole DBA for the organization and will have a blend of production and programming responsibilities.
- 24 / 7 availability, security, and performance management of SQL Server, MySQL, and Amazon RDS databases.
- Database security , including access control and managing data distribution.
- Backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures , with a focus on minimizing downtime.
- Monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving complex issues related to performance.
- Database migration, upgrades, and patch management projects.
- Data management across multiple platforms (Linux, Windows, Amazon RDS).
- Test data management for application development teams.
- Designing and optimizing data structures and schemas to meet business needs.
- Advanced SQL query writing for ad hoc reporting.
- Collaborating with software developers to integrate efficient database requests into applications.
- Database design and development , including complex stored procedures, reports, and queries.
- Database optimization and performance improvements (such as working with SQL Server processes and mobile app SQLite generation).
While the role involves development tasks, much of it centers around maintaining, optimizing, and securing the databases in production environments, indicating a strong operational / production focus. However, some programming and development work is necessary for optimizing performance and working with developers to support applications.
