What are the responsibilities and job description for the Faith-Based Development Coordinator position at Adult and Teen Challenge PNW?
The primary responsibility of the Development Coordinator is to develop new sources of funding for the local center.
The Base pay range above represents a good faith estimate of the low and high end base pay range for the position.
General Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:
This position will seek relationships in the community, local businesses and in local churches through membership and involvement in order to bring new sources of financial help to the local Teen Challenge ministry. Position will require Coordinator to attend events that will bring exposure to the ministry of Teen Challenge on the local level. The Development Coordinator will schedule events such as banquets, luncheons, auctions and etc. Position will network to develop work experience fundraising opportunities.
Development Coordinator also works in cooperation with Program Coordinator and other staff to develop and improve the different faucets of Teen Challenge ministry.
Supervision Received:
Works under the direct supervision of the Center Executive Director who determines goals, assigns tasks and reviews performance for overall effectiveness through reports, observation and conferences. Employee shall exercise a high degree of independent decision and judgment in relation to scope of duties and responsibilities.
Supervision Exercised:
Under the direction of and in cooperation with the Center Executive Director, exercises full responsibility for developing funding sources for the ministry center. Works closely with other coordinators in developing improved program elements, primarily education.
Examples of Principle Duties: (Examples do not cover all duties that will be performed).
1. A thorough working knowledge of all program policies and procedures relative to assigned scope of duties and responsibilities included in the Adult & Teen Challenge Pacific Northwest “Staff Policies and Procedures Manual”, “Crisis Manual” and the “Student Manual”.
2. Possess good standards of personal hygiene and a clean neat appearance including prescribed standards for hair and dress.
3. Ability to make new relationships in a professional environment and to promote the ministry of Teen Challenge in the public arena with composure and ease.
4. To work directly with the Center Executive Director in promotional opportunities.
5. Through attending church services/events, local civic/business events, memberships in civic organizations and etc. pursue relationships in order to network with potential donors.
6. Seek out new sources of financial assistance for the local center, including grant writing, organizing charitable events and nurturing relationships with philanthropic donors.
7. Organize special events for the local center, including banquets, luncheons, auctions and etc
8. In conjunction with Education Coordinator, develop new and improve existing education programs, especially focusing on Phase V and Restoration students.
Recruiting Requirements – Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
Requires a considerable knowledge of business and promotions. Ability to interact with professionals in the business, professional, civil and religious world. Ability to present the ministry of Teen Challenge in the public forum. Considerable ability to work harmoniously with program coordinators, clerical and support workers, student interns and volunteers; ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form; emotional maturity, professional objectivity and the ability to act in a Christian manner; and, the ability to carry out recommendations and directives of the Center Executive Director.
Experience and Training:
1. Graduation from a four year college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration, liberal arts or related field; or
2. Two (2) years of business management, one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity of other staff; or
3. Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training demonstrating the ability to effectively execute the duties and responsibilities of Program Coordinator.
Special Requirements:
1. Possession of or ability to obtain within 30 days, a valid driver’s license in State of domicile.

Pay: $48,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
