ELL & HSE Curriculum & Instruction Coordinator
Job Description and Expectations
(Full Time)
Reporting Structure:
The Curriculum & Instruction Coordinator reports to the Director of the WTAE Program.
Performance Agreement:
The Curriculum & Instruction Coordinator will perform all aspects of the communicated job description. This employee will effectively meet the contractual and performance expectations of the MSD of Wayne Township. Formal performance evaluation will be conducted annually.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
DOMAIN I: CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT & ALIGNMENT
- Develop curriculum aligned with Test for Adult Basic Education (TABE) tests, as well as General Education Development (GED) and High School Equivalency Test (HiSET)
- Train on all curriculum needs in respective programs (ELL & HSE)
DOMAIN II: INSTRUCTION & TEACHER SUPPORT
- Communicate program expectations, goals, and structure with teaching staff
- Provide on-going training and support for instructors on all required educational technology
- Oversee the respective Professional Development Facilitators (PDFs)
- Prepare and present quarterly professional development programming
- Perform bi-annual evaluations of teaching staff
- Support teaching staff in day-to-day operations
DOMAIN III: STUDENT ENGAGEMENT & SUCCESS
- Monitor student attendance & test results
- Ensure student placement in correct courses
- Support teachers in daily Digital Literacy opportunities through platforms such as; USA Learns, Essential Education, Typing.com, GED Flash
- Make Life Coach and Performance Coach referrals for student barriers
- Provide accommodations and educational support through IEP and 504 conferences and planning
- Conference with students as needed
DOMAIN VI- PROGRAM COMPLIANCE
- Ensure completion of DWD requirements such as; Adult Learning Plan (ALP) completion, regular post-testing and Distance Learning completion,
- Complete required DWD Professional Development reports
- Strive to achieve outcomes for DWD Program of Excellence Award
- Communicate and collaborate with Coordinator of Data and Outcomes to ensure goal completion
DOMAIN V- SUPPORT STAFF
- Train, communicate, and collaborate with all staff under position in the organizational chart including, Life Coaches, Performance Coaches, Paraprofessionals, and ELL/HSE Secteraries
