Responsibilities
We are looking for a Yard Manager to join our team! In this role, you will supervise and direct Yard personnel in shipping, receiving, and handling products. You will provide leadership in loading/unloading techniques, yard organization, inventory control, vehicle maintenance, and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Ensure PPE compliance and maintain a safe work environment
- Facilitate departmental communication and meetings
- Report unsafe conditions or injuries to the Plant Manager
- Conduct cycle-counts
- Operate and maintain forklifts and yard vehicles
- Manage product rotation and yard housekeeping
- Maximize payloads and minimize loading errors
- Coordinate DOT stock lots and minimize departmental overtime
- Inspect finished goods quality
- Confirm customer orders (ASN)
- Manage yard layout and organization
- Oversee L/MH certification programs and CPU/RMA management
- Promote ADS CORE VALUES and a positive work environment
- Manage operating supply purchases
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Vocational or associate’s degree preferred
- 3-5 years’ experience as a Yard Loader
- Supervisory experience
- Ability to repeatedly lift 75 pounds to a height of 6 feet
- Ability to stand and be mobile for a minimum of 8 continuous hours
- Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in temperature extremes
- Ability to use hands, arms and legs to physically handle and transport finished goods
- Position requires full range of body motion including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting and ability to mount/dismount industrial equipment and vehicles
