Job Description Job Description Job DescriptionThe Salvage Yard Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the salvage yard, including managing the inventory of salvaged parts, material, and vehicles while ensuring that all safety protocols are being followed. The Yard Manager will also maintain relationships with employees, customers, and vendors for the salvage yard to increase business.Duties and Responsibilities : Manage the day-to-day operations of the salvage yard, including receiving, sorting, and organizing salvaged parts and Ferrous material.Supervise and train employees to ensure that they are following safety procedures and performing their job duties efficiently.Maintain accurate inventory records and implement systems to track vehicle and Ferrous inventory.Purchase and price incoming inventory to ensure profitability and competitive pricing.Foster positive relationships with customers and vendors to encourage repeat business and maintain a positive reputation in the industry.Oversee all yard production such as equipment operation, vehicle processing, part pulling and sales.Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding salvage yard operations.Maintain a safe and clean work environment, including enforcing safety protocols and ensuring that all employees are adhering to environmental regulations.CompetenciesHigh school diploma or equivalent.Minimum of 2 years of experience in the salvage yard or related industry, with supervisory experience preferred.Knowledge of automotive parts and their value.Ability to lead and motivate a team.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations regarding salvage yards.Pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.Physical demandsStanding for extended periods of timeAbility to lift 50 poundsOther dutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities required of the employee for this job.
