Advanced RPO is hiring on behalf of a client. We are looking for an Accounting Supervisor in Charlotte NC! *Details of the company and position will be shared during the interview process.
What will you do in this role?
- Assists with the month end closing process including account analysis and journal entry preparation.
- Analyzes, and verifies, and approves transactions in posting journals, ledgers and other records.
- Analyzes, investigates and corrects accounting entries as needed to ensure compliance with established accounting policies.
- Supervises and directs the work of the accounts payable and cash application units by ensuring accurate financial transaction posting, financial reporting and statement preparation in accordance with the organization’s established policies.
- Suggests and implements improvements in processes to increase the effectiveness of the unit.
- Manages all applicable account reconciliations and ensures completion in accordance with company defined schedules.
- Coordinates all related work for annual and interim audits.
- Completes and files quarterly and annual Census and Bureau of Economic Analysis forms.
- Serves as backup to Controller for the monthly submission and validation of financial information and weekly validation of vendor payments.
What does it take to be successful in this role?
- Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting, four years of experience in a finance or accounting position with two years of supervisory experience. Prior experience with automated financial, accounting and reporting systems.
- In depth understanding of basic accounting principles and budgeting.
- Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
- Detailed understanding of the daily financial and accounting operations (i.e. Accounts Payable and cash application) with a strong sense of urgency.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software, including intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics, Great Plains.
- Excellent professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced results driven environment.
- Excellent project and time management skills.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
