Planner/Scheduler

Advanced Thermal Batteries, located in Westminster, MD is currently seeking a Production Planner that will work closely with the production department / project managers and will report directly to the Director of Manufacturing. This position is accountable for planning and scheduling activities to ensure manufacturing meets the production schedule and customer demands. This is a hands-on role engaged with the factory floor and will be expected to communicate frequently with internal team members regarding material shortages, production status and production needs.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and prioritize shop floor work orders to ensure maximum performance.
• Develop and maintain production planning processes to maximize material usages and finished goods outputs.
• Publish and communicate schedules to all functions within ATB through weekly meetings and digital means.
• Conduct daily/ weekly reviews with warehouse, customer service, internal and external manufacturing plants to meet and exceed delivery targets.
• Closely monitor shop orders to ensure operations finish on time.
• Communicate daily and weekly to production team leads, supervisors on goals and deliverables. When production issues arise, follow the escalation process to the stakeholders in timely manner.
• Understand and schedule manufacturing workflow for 3 production areas
• Obtain and report production outputs to the management team

Requirements:

• 3-5 years’ experience in Materials or related field
• Knowledgeable of the fundamental structure and workings of MRP and/or ERP systems
• Experienced in master scheduling, production planning, purchasing, cost accounting, and lean manufacturing techniques
• Positive Attitude, Ethics and Integrity
• Good oral and written communications skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Outlook

Preferred Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, industrial engineering or Supply Chain
• APICS certifications
