What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN, Float Pool, Part Time, Day Shift position at Adventist Health?
POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a union-based role represented by the CNA. Responsible for the planning, coordination, and provision of nursing care to patients in ICU, Step Down Unit, Med Surg, Day Stay Unit, PACU and ER. Responsible for maintaining competencies required for each of these units. Supervises and delegates care responsibilities to ancillary personnel commensurate with their scope of practice.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Has excellent observation, good nursing judgment/critical thinking, and good oral and written communication skills. Ability to work with multiple tasks in a team setting utilizing interpersonal, organizational and prioritizing skills. Able to supervise and delegate care responsibilities to ancillary personnel commensurate with their scope of practice. Able prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision. Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment. Analytical and grammatical skills necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential. Must be fluent in spoken English. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
Education and Work Experience:
- Associate's Degree or equivalent: Required
- Bachelor's degree: Preferred
- 1 year ICU or Step-Down/Progressive Care, High Risk Labor and Delivery or ER experience in the last 5 years: Required
- Completion of Critical Care Course (or equivalent experience): Preferred
- Cardiovascular nursing knowledge and skills applicable to the care of postoperative patient and new admissions: Required
Licenses and Certifications:
- Current CA RN License: Required
- Current BLS Certificate: Required
- Current ACLS Certificate: Required
- Current PALS Certificate (within 60 days of hire or transfer): Required
- Current TNCC certificate or enrolled in upcoming TNCC class: Required
Organizational Requirements:
